Natalie and Noah,
Even as I busily took pictures of your wedding ceremony last week, I listened to what the officiate spoke over you (Officiate: Pastor Todd Core of Harmony Hill Baptist Church, Lufkin, TX). One of his main points stood out loud and clear to me: You need the Gospel for your marriage. And he could not be more right. Your commitment to growth into the likeness of Christ can shape every interaction in your marriage if you let it. Christ loved you first, and you get to extend His love, delight, compassion, and forgiveness to each other. The Gospel is what makes the difference between white-knuckling and flourishing in your "till death do us part" vow, because the Gospel serves as the bond that can help y'all weather whatever comes your way. And speaking of weather, your wedding day and how you handled the sunny times and the rainy times serve as an analogy. Y'all graciously adapted to the severe storm forecast and found creative solutions to help you (and your guests and your photographer) enjoy your special day! Life will bring storms too - meet them with the joy and flexibility I saw last week!

Thank you for letting me be your photographer for your sacred day. I had a blast getting to know y'all and your families and serve you in this way!
You know, some marriage vows say "For better or for worse," and if my memory serves me right, y'all's vows adapted that a bit. So perhaps I would adapt it a bit further and encourage you to be committed to seeing your spouse gradually transformed by the Gospel whether life brings rain or shine!
