To be outside or inside...

When you start considering what look you want for your photoshoot with your newborn, you'll have fun looking through different styles. I just had a shoot that turned into a phenomenal opportunity to demonstrate the two different styles in one session. We started indoors, and for most newborn lifestyle photoshoots, indoors is always a good bet. It's warm and cozy, and you can let the show go on despite any changes in weather. That alone makes it good for new mamas and little babies alike! Go look at this family's portion of the shoot that happened inside.

At this same session, we had time and perfect weather to step outside to take a few. Wow, does it change this feel! What we did indoors looks warm and cozy with rich shadows and soft window light. Again, this is a go-to choice for newborn sessions. But don't be afraid to ask your photographer about stepping outside the box--or in this case, outside the house--for a bit if you like the brighter look!

As an artist-photographer myself, I love both! Each has its place, for sure.

Not every session can have both, but I'm sure glad that this one did! Special thanks to Catherine and Jackson for letting me use their session to showcase that

if the weather permits, newborn lifestyle sessions fair well outside and inside.
