Any wedding at the Robinshaw is bound to be beautiful, but Emma and Nate's special day this past Sunday radiated with visual beauty and a deeper beauty. As you'll see, the visual beauty makes for delightful wedding portraits, but the spiritual beauty struck the deeper chord in my artist-heart. It's a deeper beauty that I knew a hint of seventeen-years ago this week when I got married. It's a deeper beauty that has resonated in the deepest, darkest moments and in the mountaintop experiences. It's a deeper beauty that you have to live-into-understanding. What is this deeper beauty? It's the beauty of the marriage that transcends all earthly marriages. It's the beauty of the fact that marriage as we know it is an analogy of a grand Truth. The officiant explained it well:
"Nate and Emma, you are taking part in giving the world a picture of the Divine Drama of the Gospel...
This covenant that starts today, thankfully, serves a purpose bigger than you.
It is to continually remind you and others how Jesus loves his people.
And all of the highs of marriage - they will find their completion in your future with Him.
And all of the lows of marriage - will find their resolution in your future with Him."
